Yes! You too can break love ones out of prison in one easy step: Use encouraging words! It's as though you (Yes! You!) broke the seal that had once held them captive - their truest being locked-up!
Encouraging words will bring the best out in people because the very act is one of the highest forms of expressing human-dignity. Encouraging words cause people to transform into the very words we speak over them.
Speaking something out-loud is powerful!
Growing up I remember asking my mom if she would confirm me. I intuitively knew I needed it. Her reply, “Why can’t you do it yourself?”
Remember how much Esau cried after having learned his brother, Jacob had schemed, and stole his birthright? His father's words that would have confirmed who he was to be. Words that would have encouraged him in that regard.
The majority of us go through life seeking confirmation (our birthright), and without obtaining it we feel a nagging sense of discontent. We are in prison like a caged animal pacing back-and-forth through life.
The uneasiness is so palpable that we find ourselves indulging in sex, drugs, alcohol, smoking, shopping, over-eating and even bullying. Unable to know who we are. Like Esau we are dismayed because we don't know what our birthright is! Who am I?
Of course God the Father confirms each of us through His encouraging words of hope. In Isaiah He tells us He has plans to give us hope and a future. In Ephesians He tells us how much He loves us, and that we are blameless. He forgives us of all our sins and then lavishes us with His Grace! Wow! Even-though my mother couldn't confirm me or encourage me, God sure does - through His Word.
Try it! You too can bust people free everyday and change their lives forevers by words of encouragement and hope. Shed the Light and you too will become a Traveling Light. Then see what it does for you too!
