Sunrise from Below Architecture

Unfortunately, hypocrisy is the path between sinner and saint. Paul said so himself, he does the things he does not want to do and does not do the things he wants to do.

The Oxford Dictionary defines hypocrisy as: The practice of claiming to have moral standards or beliefs to which one’s own behavior does not conform.

The transformation from worm (sinner) to butterfly (saint) has a middle ground called the chrysalis that is neither worm nor butterfly. We as Christians are perceived by the world as hypocrites and rightly so.

Like the chrysalis hanging onto the tree's branch we too are in a transition phase. As new or baby Christians we display some of our old ways that are in conflict with the new (a new creation). At first, the butterfly struggles its way out of the cocoon. It continues on this path until it is able to completely escape. Even after it is no longer restrained by the cocoon it stumbles a bit until it finally finds its balance enough to fly free.

It is important that as Christians we admit this truth because it would eliminate contention and conflict within the Body of Christ.

When we see a brother or sister not walking the straight path, can't we faithfully forgive them and encourage them knowing they are struggling to become free of the cocoon (the restraints of the world).

Admitting our own hypocrisy is part of forgiving ourself as well as forgiving other.

"Let us not be conformed to the world but be transformed..." Romans 12:2

As a Traveling Light do not be so hard on others. Rest in the Holy Spirit, knowing that He is doing the "work." Only don't hang on that branch too long.

Continue to shine His Light, and be a Traveling Light for the world!
